Naming characters is always something I have difficulties with. Being indecisive I can deliberate over little things like this for ages; but in an effort to move forward and progress - and sick of always referring to my protagonist as 'girl' - I made a decision and chose the name Myles.
It was a split decision, but one I think is quite fitting for my protagonist and the film. Traditionally 'Miles' is a boys name, but I decided replacing the 'i' with a 'y' made it feminine!
Additonally I noticed quite a few Disney protagonists have short/unisex names.
